STAPLES by Borthwick

Hello girls

"Made for the slow style makers at home and work curating their own perfectly imperfect life where less is more."

We are delighted to launch our latest STAPLES collection, designed to be functional staple items for work or play, 365 days per year.

‘Women work too’ has been a mantra with our team since the brand's inception. Is it just us or can you find many really good menswear labels yet find it difficult to source the women's equivalent? We are talking; made onshore, produced in quality fabrics and flying the flag for being an indie brand. Well, that’s why we launched Borthwick! A brand where family and work values converge for the common good.

All our products start with an idea leading into sourcing the right materials. For the STAPLES collection, we wanted a quality durable fabric that ages really well. The canvas weave makes it durable and this particular one, produced by UK mill, Brisbane Moss, is sanded for a soft touch. Wear these garments and watch them mould around your body to fit like a glove.

Our partner manufacturer is based in Scotland and before any production was made we focused on creating patterns for the women’s fit. We would describe it as a modern fit, not too feminine but just enough.

"Our ethos is to put provenance back on the map for garment making. It works for the food & drink folks who do a stellar job describing their ingredients sourcing and manufacturing. All Borthwick products are proudly made on UK shores."

Introducing two new outerwear styles to the STAPLES collection. First up, the Barnwell work coat in women's fit with 6 colours to choose from. A studio favourite shown here is in the olive colourway >

Up next, The Gartness Liner Vest in 6 colours inspired by last year's collaboration with the Dundee Design Festival. We have refined the vest in Brisbane Moss sanded canvas for work or play. Shown here in Lt. blue >
